As the Lead Receiver, you will be responsible for managing a team of receivers and ensuring efficient processes while maintaining compliance with safety regulations. You will perform quality checks on incoming shipments to verify quantities and condition, and you’ll work closely with our inventory management system to update stock levels. An essential part of your role will be collaborating with other departments, including purchasing and logistics, to resolve discrepancies and improve operational efficiency. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment will be vital as you lead your team to meet daily and weekly receiving goals. Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all receiving activities in the warehouse.
- Supervise and train a team of receiver staff, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
- Conduct quality control checks on incoming shipments to assess condition and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of all received goods, documenting discrepancies and issues.
- Implement best practices for receiving processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the inventory management team to update stock levels and manage inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and warehouse policies during receiving operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse or receiving role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse procedures.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff and other departments.
- Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and improve operations.
