Job Opening: 2nd Shift Brazer
Description
We are seeking a skilled Coil Brazer to join our team. The Coil Brazer will be responsible for brazing copper coils used in HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in braze welding, working with metals, and ensuring the quality and integrity of finished coils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform brazing operations on copper and other metal coils according to company standards and specifications.
- Inspect coils before, during, and after brazing to ensure proper joint fit and quality.
- Operate brazing equipment, including torches and furnaces, while maintaining safety protocols.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to ensure precise and accurate brazing.
- Measure and cut coils to correct lengths, as required by specific projects or orders.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, ensuring proper care and minimal waste.
- Monitor and maintain brazing temperatures and other variables to ensure proper fusion of materials.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure brazed joints meet industry standards and pass inspection.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve manufacturing processes and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a coil brazer or in a similar role within manufacturing or metalworking.
- Familiarity with brazing techniques and safety standards.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in welding/brazing is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position.
- Shift work, including possible overtime.
- Safety gear provided (gloves, goggles, etc.).
- Physical demands may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in a hot environment.
