Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator to join our precision machining team. This role involves setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, working with a variety of materials. The candidate will spend 50% of their time machining plastics and the other 50% machining metals. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to machine both plastics and metals per blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and GD&T symbols to ensure accurate machining.
- Install, adjust, and maintain tooling, work offsets, and fixture setups.
- Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
- Troubleshoot machine errors, tool wear, and minor mechanical issues to maintain productivity.
- Work closely with programmers and engineers to improve machining processes.
- Follow all safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 24 months relevant CNC Operator experience
- Able to use basic hand and power tools
- Basic math
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to identify problems
- Able to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Able to read ruler/tape measure
- Basic computer skills
