Quality Technician

Pay DOE $25-$28

The primary function of the Quality Inspector is to monitor and evaluate all products for quality specifications.

Proficiently operates all Lab equipment and acquires knowledge of all testing procedures

Troubleshoots problems and reacts quickly to product needs

Assists line personnel in monitoring and following all line production policies to include SE correct metal sizes, raw metal inspections, verifying required usage of paints as listed on job travelers and finish product labeling and packaging

Performs testing on paint properties such as viscosities and temperature and verifies proper application parameters

Reads, understands, and verifies supplier Product Specification Sheets

Accurately prepares Lab Data Sheets and necessary paperwork for production runs and sets up orders for next shift

Accurately and efficiently obtain, test, and properly label painted samples to include color, gloss, t-bend, pencil hardness, solvent resistance, impact, crosshatch, dry film thickness, dry heat adhesion, coating hardness, gauge, and micrometer.

 

 

Job Requirements:

Proficient in reading and writing

Mathematical skills and ability to understand basic measurements

Comfort level with a calculator and computer for occasional data entry and/or data lookup

Forklift Experience preferred but not required

Exposure to production environment required

2+ years of quality experience preferably in the steel, coating, or manufacturing industry

Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders safely.

Prepare raw materials for production runs, verify customer order requirements to material and production schedule

Connect raw material (metal) through a stitching process.

Visually inspect raw & finished coils to identify defects (marks, dents, scratches, etc.)

Package coils according to customer requirements (paper, cardboard, shrink wrap, etc.

  • Must be able to set up oxyfuel and plasma torch as well as be able to make clean square cuts, straight cuts, beveled cuts, and wash welds
  • Ability to cooperate with a team and take directions from supervisors as well as level II and level III welders
  • Capable of operating the band saw, ironworkers, bench grinder, and port-a-band
  • Must be competent enough to determine if their own work is complete and correct as specified by instructions, drawings and specifications
  • Work independently or cooperatively with little hands-on instructions
  • Must have a solid understanding of weld joints and weld symbols
  • Ability to interpret blueprints / engineering sketches and correctly assemble them
  • Must be able to perform routine machine maintenance and trouble shoot issues
  • Ability to operate welder and replace gas cylinder or other parts

 Job Description:

  • Sets up SY welders by sight-setting of torch and wire projections, adjusting gas, wire feed speeds, amperages and voltages, setting welding overlap for various size Red Line and SY Shells.
  • Using hand tools attaches fixtures to each machine during size changeovers. 
  • Using a shear cuts sheet steel to proper size for fabricating 10, 20 and 30 pound shells.
  • Rolls cut steel into tubular shapes, insuring proper overlap.
  • Adjusts both shear and roller when size of shell changes and steel varies uniformity. 
  • Operates a seam welder and planisher to fabricate 10, 20 and 30 pound shells.
  • Using hand tools sets up both machines when shell requirement change, by removal of the mandrel, adjusting arms, adjusting stops, etc. Utilizes expander to test and check seam weld.
  • Operates welders to weld red Line, 101 and JOY shell spuds and bottoms.
  • Using hand tools sets up spud, collar and bottom welders when shell size requirements change.
  • Adjusts welding head angles, wire feed, weld speeds, voltages and amperages and gases as necessary for welding of JOY and Red Line shells.
  • Hydrostatically tests extinguishers by plugging shell openings and filling each shell with water and pressurizing to specifications and time.
  • Visually check each shell for leaks and identifies then by marking the location of leak.
  • Placing metal components into fixtures and using wire feed welder, welds a variety of 10, 20 and 30 pound brackets.
  • Adjusts welder, voltage, wire feed, etc, as conditions vary, using MIG welder.
  • Using arc wire feed and heli-arc welders, repairs rejected extinguishers.
  • Salvage operations include silver soldering, annealing and brazing. Repairs fixtures, jigs, metal conditioning baskets.

Position Summary:

Machine Operator works under minimal supervision, can perform all levels of repair and maintenance; expert in troubleshooting minor mechanical repairs for at least (8) machines. Compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), SOP’s, and Safety Procedures.

 

Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Plan changeover schedule for each machine/line to include changeover parts are cleaned and inspected prior to each changeover, review changeover checklist, set-up, and start-up each piece of equipment, and support machine/line until operation is achieved.
  • Use of hand tools, portable power tools, and material handling equipment to perform a precision set-up during production line change over.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment by making regular inspections and completing assigned preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Assist Maintenance Technician in diagnosing problems to learn to perform complex repairs.
  • Accountable for the set-up, operation and troubleshooting of equipment, including mechanical and programmable controls, as well as completing the necessary filler, blender, encapsulators, tablet presses, coating, conveyor, vacuum transfer systems, and palletizer adjustments for changeovers.
  • Assists team in teardown/setting up heavy machinery, operating various equipment, sanitization (major/minor clean)
  • Performs manual aspects of the operation process, including but not limited to making boxes, loading machines, hand packing product, visual and physical checks of in process and finished materials as trained and instructed by supervisor, in compliance with all safety and cGMP procedures
  • Learns and performs one or more aspect(s) of the automated operation process, including but not limited to running of machines, as trained and instructed by supervisor, in compliance with all safety and cGMP procedures
  • Flexibility and adaptable to learn and perform washroom procedures in compliance with all safety and cGMP guidelines
  • Responsible to ensure each product is prepared, filled, assembled, packed, and documented according to work instructions/SOP’s, batch records, and cGMP guidelines
  • Accurately enter data records in Redzone and interpret written information within the batch record
  • Properly wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as required per cGMP guidelines
  • Sanitation duties: plants and grounds maintenance, facilities cleanliness, and maintenance (interior and exterior), inventory of sanitation supplies, removal of trash and proper disposal, production, and non-production (housekeeping) schedules and procedures, pest control, related procedures, trainings, enforcement, and verification. Any OPS related duties that satisfy sanitation requirements.
  • Perform 5S activities and maintain organization of operating areas
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to support department and organizational goals

ResourceMFG has a great opportunity for 1st and 2nd shift Production Mechanics within a Cosmetic Manufacturing Company in Chatsworth, CA.

Pay: $25.00 – $28.00+ DOE
Shifts: 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm (overtime is required and some weekends)
2nd shift, 3pm – 11:30pm (overtime is required and some weekends)

Position Description
Install, maintain and troubleshoot various production equipment including but not limited to Un-scrambler, Pacific Rotary Filler, inline Fillers, Norden Tube fillers, Resina-Cappers, Label Machines, inkjet Coders, Conveyors, Pumps with a sound knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, electric and automation systems. Performs the Preventive Maintenance, Scheduled Maintenance, Change overs, equipment rebuilds and support production to ensure quality and efficiency. Also requires the basic Fabrication skills and knowledge of shop equipment .Must have experience using hand tools and power tools. Strong Knowledge of Lock Out/ Tag Out and GMP . Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Must have the ability to:
• Change over, troubleshoot, repair and maintain complex mechanical equipment, Controls and Piping distribution systems in accordance with GMPs and SOPs.
• Understand, follow and perform accurately all calculations and instructions written in changeover and set-up procedures
• Work in a high stress environment with multiple priorities and with very little supervision.

• Perform line change overs and set ups based on production schedule and also updates and validate set up sheets.

Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Management Systems Analyst (WMS):

  • Develop and maintain operational reporting over Scale WMS, providing visibility to the operations team to ensure 100% daily delivery performance.
  • Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for Rain Bird’s distribution teams using Power BI, Scale WMS, and PeopleSoft/Oracle.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigate system issues within Scale WMS and ERP to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure long-term resolutions.
  • Collaborate with users to gather business requirements, document functional specifications, and propose cost-effective solutions that align with business process standardization.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration between PeopleSoft and Supply Chain/Distribution/Logistics systems.
  • Work closely with developers to provide business-driven technical solutions.
  • Perform application testing, including test plan creation, scenario execution, and script development, to ensure system functionality and quality.
  • Train key users on new system functionalities and enhancements.
  • Track and analyze system performance, recommending and implementing metrics to assess module effectiveness.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Supply Chain, WMS, and Distribution/Logistics modules, providing ongoing support and training to Rain Bird employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Manufacturing, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2+ years of business experience with a proven track record in process improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Supply Chain modules (Order Entry, Inventory, Pick, Pack, and Ship).
  • Strong knowledge of Scale WMS, including system configurations and database structures a plus.

ResourceMFG is seeking an experienced coil operator to perform daily operations of coil machines, verify accuracy of documentation per work orders and customer specifications. As well as handle production machinery, organize warehouse inventory, and ensure material conformance to specifications using measuring devices

Job Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 6 months relevant Machine Operator experience
  • Receive and understand work orders from the production manager
  • Measure dimensions of parts while machine is running to ensure parts are conforming to the data sheet.
  • Understand basic mechanics and workings in the realm of computer numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Remove finished parts from machine and place on metal tubes or baskets.
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 100 lbs. , stand, bend, and reach
  • Conduct basic quality assurance of produced parts.
  • Meet production standards
  • Accurate recordkeeping and quality documentation
